kayaking uses boats originally designed by eskimos for travelling on the sea. with this in mind the boat is covered except for a hole around the waist. kayaks allow beginners to have some fun, learning skills on a lake before advancing out on a river in further sessions. these are the boats that require a two bladed paddle. if you already have some experience and would like to take it further then a river trip is the way forward. the rivers in the lake district offer something for most levels and we can arrange accommodation to suit your taste and budget – just let us know what you are interested in.
